Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D Ultrasound?

This really depends on what you’d like to see. Many moms like to have more than one 3D ultrasound to see baby at different stages.

14-20 Weeks: Great time to find out the gender.

20-26 Weeks: This is a fun time for 4D ultrasound video. Baby is very active & small enough to see most of their body at once. If baby is awake, you'll watch him/her kick, wave, grab feet, etc! However, baby will likely be breech which is not ideal for 3D/4D face pictures.

27-33 Weeks: This is the best time to get the close-up, detailed pictures of your baby's face in 3D/4D/HD. Generally by this time baby is head down, which is ideal. Baby looks more like a newborn & the cheeks have filled in nicely with fat.

What is the difference between Sneak-A-Peek 3D Ultrasound and a Medical Ultrasound?

We recommend visiting with your doctor or a medical professional before your visit with us. Medical ultrasounds are done for the purpose of assessing you and your baby’s health needs. Medical ultrasounds are typically covered by insurance and are typically only 2D scans. Please contact your medical professional for further info. We are an elective ultrasound company. Our goal and purpose is to provide a memorable bonding experience between mother, father, and family with their expecting baby. We also attempt to capture the best pictures that will be added to all the other memories you will create with your child for the rest of their life. We are a non-medical facility and can’t asses you or your baby’s health concerns in any way.

What is the difference between 3D, 4D, and HD Ultrasounds?

2D Flat Ultrasound: two dimensional, black and white pictures of your baby.

3D Ultrasound: An advanced method which captures a true, three-dimensional image of your baby, allowing you to see facial features and defined formation.

4D Ultrasound: is the same as 3D with the fourth dimension being the movement of the image.

HD Ultrasounds are the new and improved 3D/4D ultrasounds. Machines with this technology can create the most up to date life like images of your baby.

Am I guaranteed to get good pictures?

There are many factors that contribute to getting the best images like Mom's body composition, the position of the baby, the position of the placenta and the amount of amniotic fluid. It is extremely important that Mom drinks her body weight in ounces for the five consecutive days leading up to the appointment as well as on the appointment day.
